Four Sided Architecture

Every one can appreciate a well thought out home design both on the inside and outside of the house. We can drive by an estate that just looks right and when we get around to the back side we should feel just as good or better about the design. And if that home is on a water front homesite or a golf course then it should be just as captivating.

When designing a home it's important to visualize that 360 degree feeling of total design. This is called four sided architecture.

Each window must have a purpose in the architectural drawing to support the overall design. They must be accented and appointed with other materials that fit the surrounding property and other sides of the estate.

The doors match the dimensions of the windows and create uniform sub designs that build on the overall homes character.

When it all comes together it would be like a symphony of instruments all playing to the conductors timing and rhythm. In the case of an estate it's the architect who draws the harmony to each sub component of the design so that it stands as a classic for all time.

One brick, one window or a pitched roof line can send the design into a tail spin. It stands out and calls attention to the flaw of the design and ultimately the designer.

Architecture can have four amazing sides that support each other. They don't all have to be as grand as the front or back but they should continue to support the transition from one side to the other.

This support carries symmetrical dimensions across every square foot of the estate. In the case of the estate seen here the rounded turrets have form and function. They draw the viewers eyes back to the front or rear of the home.

Adopting a 360 degree or 4 sided architectural posture from the first draft all the way through to the detailed drawings will ultimately bring historic value to the art form. Your estate can influence a whole community in a positive or negative way. This is in the hands of an architect who takes the heart and soul of your dreams and puts it into a real estate treasure for all to see.
