A fireplace for all seasons

Fireplaces are a central household feature architecturally designed into most of today's homes.

As our homes have become more efficiently heated and cooled the demand has increased for a way to make fire more visible yet not at the expense of our utility bills. Homes in North and South Carolina may have a fireplace in actual use only a few months out of the year for heating. The remainder of the time a fireplace is called upon to be a center piece for interior design. The Lux 60 pictured below by Heat N Glo illustrates a contemporary design with the fireplace being a year round focal point.

Today we find multiple fireplaces in many homes around The Carolinas. It's becoming more common to see an outdoor living space that has been thought out with a fireplace like The Carolina pictured below.

Instead of being attached to the home we see a total outdoor living space in the back yard. The Dakota fireplace pictured below can be incorporated into any design.

Sometimes the fireplace is overlooked since it is often times associated with cold winter nights and the warmth that it provides.

As you walk by your fireplace think about efficiency in today's designs and the year round beauty it could provide your home. Since many designs create a sealed envelope around the fireplace they keep your power bills from climbing. The Cerona by Heat N Glo  pictured below finishes the architecture that was originally designed for the home. Interior Designers will always complete the home with some form of gas logs or insert that accents the homes real character.

When designing or remodeling your home consider adding a fireplace that may use gas, wood, pellet or electric to operate. The fireplaces of today are vented to eliminate some of the campfire type experiences of the past. If you still enjoy that type experience models like the Exclaim pictured below fits perfectly into all types of interior designs.

No matter what style of home you have a fireplace can add value and beauty to it's everyday appearance. When those cold days come it not only looks good but the fireplace will produce the heat that you need and quickly become the gathering spot in your home.
